WHAT IS MIZ STEFANI’S HOUSE?

Miz Stefani’s House is a live variety show that began in the bedroom of an old school brownstone in Brooklyn, New York. It is a celebration of the creative energy and artistic passion. Each episode is broadcast in real time on the internet. Miz Stefani’s House is currently a zero budget, 100% love production.

WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THIS?

We are inspired by the hard working, talented people we meet in NYC and we want to tell everyone about them. We love intimate venues, underground parties and secret shows. We are obsessed with experimental media and public access, DIY and occupying everything. Being inventive, creative and collaborative is what we do for fun. We like challenges. We are insane.

WHO IS BEHIND THIS MADNESS?

Miz Stefani is a classically trained vocalist with a degree in opera & classical music. Upon discovering Big Mama Thorton and Bessie Smith, she cast aside her dreams of Verdi and committed to the blues. She has lent her talents to many creative endeavors, writing and performing in indie movies, commercials, as a featured performer in Reverend Billy’s Stop Shopping Gospel Choir and as a singer & songwriter in NYC based indie rock band, Dear Comrade.

Mica Scalin is a professional enthusiast and creative instigator. She has 10 years experience in cutting edge media strategy from grassroots to broadcast entertainment. She has worked for Showtime Networks, CBS, NBC Universal and JDub Records and has helped make documentaries on subjects including marriage equality, tap dancers and mermaids. She is the co-founder of The Alternative Speakers Bureau.

Ed Parada loves entertainment, media, and technology. His production company Shake Up Productions provides crews and content for motion picture projects. He’s part of the Brooklyn-based rock band Sunset Afire. He dreams of becoming a professional spectator … someday.

Donna Czerwinski is a Jane of all trades with over 8 years of professional media and event production experience. She recently co-produced her first film, If I Were A Bell, coming soon to a film fest near you. She can be found filming toys on the subway and generally making the world a more fun, better lit place.
