New venue: Sisters are doin’ it for themselves!

We are gearing up for a fantastic February show that can only be described as an All Girl Musical Revue and Spectacular Spectacular! But more on that later…

First piece of news, we will be broadcasting on Sunday February 8th live from Sisters, a fabulous new venue in Brooklyn. You gotta see this place to believe it!

This space will allow us to keep the homey and intimate Brooklyn vibe we’ve always maintained but also offer a full bar service and menu to our studio audience and support another great new local venue! Come for brunch, enjoy our live show and then stick around for dinner!

This episode will feature two very cool performers.

Carla Ulbrich, professional smart aleck is a singing, word-slinging, guitar picking, troubadour.

Primarily known for writing humorous songs about such topics as wedgies, Waffle House and how rich she would be if she had a copyright on the ‘F’ Word, she has won numerous awards including First Place in the South Florida Folk Festival Songwriter Competition and “Novelty Song of the Year” at the Just Plain Folks Awards. Carla cites her biggest musical influences as Sesame Street, camp songs, and cat food commercials.

She’s got an amazing personal story, a survivor of catastrophic illness who turned her frustration with the US health care system into a book and a best selling album. Finding humor in this topic I think will be cathartic for all of us, at this point! Thankyou thankyou Affordable Healthcare Act, but also…grrrrrrr I didn’t get the message I needed to renew?! le sigh.

Also, she speaks Klingon…

Returning to our stage, the always amazing, noted wit and pain-proof woman, The Lady Aye, will be freaking us the frak out with some of her sideshow skills and sharing the equally fantastic stories behind how she got to be the “Sweetheart of the Sideshow” and also interview Margaret Cho for Playboy magazine and her thoughts on WTF happened on American Horror Story Freak Show.
